Mission Statement: St. Ann's Academy invests in the intellectual and spiritual promise of each student in a community that celebrates diversity and values the dignity of every human being. We challenge students to think critically and creatively, to know themselves as learners, and to govern their lives with confidence, compassion and integrity.

"More important than the curriculum is the question of the methods of teaching and the spirit in which the teaching is given." Betrand Russell

About Us

St. Ann's Academy opened its doors in August of 2012. We are located inside St. David's Episcopal Church at mile 2.2 Wasilla Fishhook Road. St. Ann's Academy is a nondenominational school that welcomes students and their families from myriad religious backgrounds. We celebrate mass with students several times a year and reference God and spiritual teachings when appropriate. Stewardship of the earth and community service are very important to us at St. Ann's Academy. We collect food for the Wasilla Food Pantry and toys for Toys for Tots as well as The Santa Cop program for senior citizens. Our students and families have also collected and distributed food for both the Valley Thanksgiving and Christmas Blessing dinner programs.

Our multiage classrooms are divided as follows:

  • PreK-1
  • 2nd through 8th grade

Ms. Tiffany and Ms. Sachie have been working together since 2007. As a team we utilize a variety of teaching methodologies ranging from Montessori, Waldorf, Sudbury and project based classrooms. Our teachers do not "teach to the test" although our students typically score very well on standardized tests. Many of our 8th graders apply and are accepted to MatSu Career and Technical High School. Since we have opened, nearly all of our 8th graders who have applied to competitive high school programs have been accepted.

Students enrolled at St. Ann's Academy are encouraged to be "Dual-Enrolled" with one of the many district home school programs. We have a solid relationship with MatSu Central School and suggest our students enroll with them.

We, at St. Ann's Academy, believe that learning takes place inside and outside the classroom. Field trips are an important part of our school experience and families are encouraged to attend when appropriate. Our seven acre campus has a small playground, garden, greenhouse and nature trail. We also have access to the paved bike trail that heads into Wasilla.
